The inquest into the death of a Wirral man whose body was found at a railway bridge has been opened.
Andrew Bowden, of Ortega Close, New Ferry, was found near Bebington station last Wednesday night after a train driver raised the alarm.
The 30-year-old local man was pronounced dead by paramedics at 1.30am, on Thursday.
Wirral coroner Christopher Johnson opened the inquiry into his death on Friday at his offices in West Kirby.
Coroner’s officer Arthur Flower said: “He was last seen alive at around 9am on April 10 at his home address by his father.
“At about 10.30pm that evening, the drivers of two trains on the Merseyrail system reported seeing what they believed to be the body of a male at the bridge which is close to Bebington railway station.”
The inquest was adjourned until a date to be fixed.
