A Disused toilet block on Hoylake promenade is to be demolished to make way for a cafe with an alcohol license.
Gary Watson plans to set up the “Pebbles café” and says it will be opened later this year.
Planning permission was granted in December and contains conditions restricting opening hours and when the building work can be carried out.
The opening times of the café are seasonally restricted; from April 1 to August 31, the hours will be from 8am until 9.30pm, and from September 1 to March 31, they will be from 8am to dusk.
A letter regarding Mr Watson’s plan was sent to 673 properties in nearby North Parade, Hoyle Road, Ferndale Road, Grove Road, Valentine Road and The Kings Gap. 44 written replies were received and of those, 31 were in support of development and only one against.
The costs for have increased to more than £150,000 and deadline for completion of works is August 31.
